HIGHLY RECOMMENDED GOOD FEEDS!
FISH
Fish is a good source of omega-3 fatty acids. Fresh fish, such as salmon, should be simply poached or roasted.
DAIRY
Many dogs have prooblem digesting milk, but can tolerate a little cheese from time to time as a training reward, or as an ingredient in a treat. Plain, live yoghurt is a good source of calcium and protein and has probiotic properties, and can be beneficial if served in small quantities.
EGG
Eggs are easily digestible and a good source of protein, amino acids and fatty acids. Blend the shells into a calcium-rich powder to scatter into dog’s food.
HERBS
Mint, oregano and parsley ensure sweet breath and help digestion.
MEAT
Meat should provide between 60 & 75 percent of dog’s diet, but there are other things he wil enjoy and benefit from as well.
GARLIC
Members of allium family such as onions and leeks can cause anaemia in dogs and shoudl be avoided, but small amounts of garlic from time to time can have beneficial bacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties.
FRUITS
Apples, ripe bananas, blueberries, pears and watermelon make good snacks, or additions to meals such as porridge or smoothies. Make sure to remove pips.
VEGETABLES
Broccoli, celery, green beans, parsnips, peas, pumpkin, sweet potato and carrots. If raw, ensure they are well pureed.
